The ST connector is supplied in bulk pack to provide the most cost effective ST style connector available. The strain relief boot, either for 900µm pigtail fiber or for ruggedised patchcord cable, is ordered separately and avoids waste of the unused component. Coloured strain relief boots for ruggedised cable are also available. The zirconia ceramic ferrule is mounted in a polymer body with a metal bayonet housing.
ST couplings (in-line adaptors) are available with either a polymer sleeve, for low cost multimode applications, or with a beryllium copper sleeve for higher performance.
